Leticia Webb - Artistic DirectorLeticia Webb has been teaching for over 30 years and was formerly Principal of the very large and successful studio, “Turning Pointe Dance Studios” for 9 years in Cairns, North Queensland, before devising and creating the unique training curriculum that the En Pointe Dance Centre  is now so well know for. Leticia has trained students from Pre-primary to Solo Seal and to Teacher Certificate status in Classical Ballet, Tap and Modern/Jazz.

Leticia’s students have gone on gain contracts with the with The Australian Ballet Company, The Queensland Ballet Company, The Royal New Zealand Ballet, many cruise ship lines and Musical Theatre Productions here and overseas. Past students have appeared in Australian productions of  “Phantom of the Opera”, “West Side Story”, “The King and I”, “The Lion King” , and cast of The Wiggles, and Hi 5. Many former students of Mrs Webb, have gone on to gain placements with The Australian Ballet School (Full-time and Interstate Programs), The Queensland Ballet Junior Program, The English National Ballet School (London), The Hamburg Ballet School (Germany), The Dutch National Ballet Academy (Holland), The West Australian Performing Arts Academy (WAPA), QUT (Dance), Queensland Dance School of Excellence, The Victorian College of the Arts School, ED 5 and Brent Street. Her students have also won various RAD Scholarships throughout Australia.

Leticia has also accompanied her students to the UK, where they were accepted into The Royal Ballet School (London) Upper and Lower School International Summer Schools. In 2008 a former student of Leticia’s, won Silver at The Genee Ballet Competition in Canada. Leticia consistently provides overseas study and training tours and experiences for her students. Students have travelled to the UK, Germany, France, Singapore, Japan, the USA and Canada. En Pointe students have personalised dance tours prepared for them by Dance Tours International and students train with top teachers in their field in each of these countries.

Leticia has performed in and choreographed regional musicals such as West Side Story and The King and I, adjudicated many local talent quests and been invited to teach at summer and winter vacation schools throughout Australia.

Leticia commenced her dance training at the age of 6 years. She studied Classical Ballet (RAD), Tap and Modern in the FATD, BDA and ISTD Syllabi and Highland Dancing with the NDA. At the age of 15, Leticia  was accepted into the Victorian College of the Arts School in Melbourne and offered classes at The Australian Ballet School (Melbourne) during that time.

After graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts School, Leticia received an Associate Diploma (Dance) from the Queensland University of Technology.
Leticia received her Advanced Executants’ Certificate with the RAD and received Distinction for her Teaching Certificate also with the RAD, and holds teaching qualifications in Tap, Modern/Jazz, and has won various scholarships and championships throughout her competitive years.
